Napster Delays New Service
Napster has delayed the release of their new service until at least the first quarter of next year, after they were telling us it would be ready this June (it’s now the end of October for those of you that don’t know). Just giving all of us another reason to download more music. Long [...]
Gnutella is File Sharing!
With the recent lawsuits against Fasttrack and with Audiogalaxy to be next, it looks like gnutella is the next best alternative. It is the only true P2P network in which anybody can make a client, which virtually makes it impossible to stop. New gnutella clients are being developed all the time, recently XoloX and swapnut [...]
RIAA’s Response to Anti-Terrorism Bill
The reponse to a Billboard.com article is from the RIAA on their attempts to get a provision tacked on to the USA Act that wouldnt make them liable if they hacked PC users in order to delete files off their hard drive. There’s now resume, uploading to folder the server chooses, chatting, SEARCHING [...]

Here’s my list:
1. Gnotella. Got a tendency to freeze, but I’ve never experienced any crashes. Can run for weeks.
2. [...]
SSSCA Hearings Postponed
It looks like the outcry from the tech community has been heard. The Senate Commerce Committee postponed Friday’s hearings on the Security Systems Standards and Certification Act based on the heavy opposition it received. Senator Fritz Hollings, who sponsored the bill, has indicated it will be retooled before the hearings are rescheduled.
Death Threats on Audiogalaxy
On Audiogalaxy, one of the most popular file sharing services today, several members have been receiving very violent death threats. Most of these have been by a user who goes by the name J_lethal. The management of Audiogalaxy has been notified about these obviously illegal actions and yet has done nothing. The target of the [...]
